AVO Analysis

·       Forward Modeling – Flamingo has a full compliment of AVO forward modeling software including two layer modeling, full offset Zoeppritz synthetic generator for PP, PS and SS and Biot and fluid modeling.

·       Tracked Amplitude Extraction Proper amplitude extraction is the foundation on which AVO analysis is based, yet many of our competitors use isotime methods that does not extract accurate amplitude information.

Flamingo has developed an amplitude extraction algorithm that tracks proper amplitudes even in the presence of residual NMO or statics.  This algorithm works with all classes of AVO including Class 2 with phase reversal.

·       2 - and 3 - Parameter AVO analysis

Ř     Marine AVO - In addition to conventional Intercept and Gradient, we can also determine DVp/Vp, DVs/Vs and Dr/r if seismic data quality are sufficient.   Three parameter AVO is generally applicable to marine streamer cable data where data quality is high and long offsets are acquired.  With well control, we can create Vp, r and porosity plots for reservoir horizons.

Ř     Land AVO Land data can be conditioned if needed using our AngleBinning process.  AngleBinning does not smooth amplitudes that would result from forming supergathers.  AngleBinning can also be applied to marine data but, except for ocean bottom cable data, is generally not required.

 ·       MultiAttribute Crossplot Discrimination – Flamingo’s crossplot software allows multiple attribute discrimination.  For example, for land AVO, we may plot Intercept vs. Gradient but constrain the crossplot data points using upper and lower limits for Intercept, Gradient, relative standard deviation (measure of quality of fit of Amplitude vs. Incident Angle) and Fluid Factor.  For marine streamer cable data, we can calculate and use density contrast and other parameters.

·       Flag Volumes – For easy and efficient integration of AVO results into existing interpretations, Flamingo has developed a product that we refer to as a Flag Volume . A Flag Volume is a volume of 1’s and 0’s that have 1’s everywhere the data satisfies all crossplot criteria and 0’s elsewhere.  Multiple AVO class volumes, such as Class 2 and Class 3 can also be created and displayed simultaneously using our Flag Volumes concept.  Flag Volumes are an important component of our AVO shareware called The AVO Explorer.

·       AVO Explorer

ClientWare for Reconnaissance and Detailed Interrogation of AVO Anomalies

Flamingo Reservoir Technology’s AVO Explorer is software developed for rapid reconnaissance of 3D volumes and detailed interrogation of prospects.  This software is offered free of charge to Flamingo clients.  The software operates on a Linux computer that is equipped with a removable hard drive containing data from a specific project.  Changing projects is easily accomplished by inserting different project hard drives into the Linux computer.  The Explorer is controlled from the users PC via a connection called the Virtual Network Connection.  Installation of AVO Explorer is performed by Flamingo.

One of the ways the AVO Explorer interrogates a seismic 3D volume is through time slices that have been prepared as a movie loop by Flamingo.  Optionally, the user may create their own time slices and save them, if desired, at the end of the work session.    The Explorer has been designed to:

1).  Examine time slices made from a seismic or AVO attribute volume and add
      annotations on the time slices.

2).  Superimpose Flamingo’s Flag Volume on each of the time slices indicating
where Flamingo’s AVO analysis has highlighted possible prospects.

3).  Overlay locations of existing wells for correlation with AVO response.

4).  Launch either of two programs for interrogation of CDP’s at a possible
prospect location by simply pointing and clicking of the cursor.
